Stephanie Smith – Stephanie Smith EP

Stephanie Smith – Stephanie Smith EP – Gotee Records – Released 11/17/09 – Reviewed By Tyler Hess

If you’re going to do something that has been done before, you darn well better do it well.

Stephanie Smith’s second label release shows everything that you might expect from a Christian, female, pop vocalist, with lyrics that are encouraging to the youth (especially girls) and pop rock tunes that are nothing short of in your face.  Topically, it feels like a Krystal Meyers albums, but vocally is somewhere between Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Britt Nicole, leaving just enough room to make it her own just a little bit and is surprisingly powerful.  No, there aren’t any really breath-taking tracks on here that make me really re-think things in my life or feel particularly empathetic, but the songs are fun and something simple for those who like it that way

  1. If you like Krystal Meyers (or not) see this: It’s a good site:

    http://krystalmeyerslyrics.wordpress.com/

It has (copied from the site) Krystal Meyers’ Lyrics, High Quality Video of her produced videos (Make Some Noise, Hallelujah, The Beauty of Grace, Anticonformity, etc.), the NBC “New Season” Promo, hearitfirst.com and JCTV Interviews and some of her latest, talented, live performances.
