Do you listen to the radio very often? If you haven’t been living under a rock, you may have noticed that as awesome as some radio stations are, they play the same 20 songs every day for months on end, with a few songs being played year after year after year.
Here at Christian Music Zine we want to introduce a new feature that will utilize Spotify (sorry to those who live in countries without spotify) by making a brand new 10 song playlist every day (Monday through Friday to start, we’ll see how this goes) from different staff members (and readers can submit lists too!) for you to check out.
The lists will vary from day to day with different artists, different songs, different genres and different eras. One day we may decided to have a punk rock day, another we might have all worship and another we might decide to make our own “best of” list from one of our favorite artists! Most days, it will be random songs from random bands and artists that we think you might enjoy.
We encourage stepping out of your comfort zone and listening to something that you might not have looked for by listening to our play lists each day and who knows, maybe you’ll find something new to love! To submit a playlist, submit a Spotify playlist link to christianmusiczine@gmail.com with explanations on why you chose each song and if we like it, it will be posted on Christian Music Zine!
Monday February 20th 2012: 10 Tracks, 33 Minutes
The Classic Crime – Seattle: Possibly the best way to listen to The Classic Crime is when they’re doing something acoustic and this is the finest song on The Seattle Sessions EP and a great prelude to the side project Vocal Few.
Deas Vail – Sixteen: One of the most overlooked bands in the world and the band that should be taking over the ears for those who were big fans of Copeland.
Family Force 5 – Wobble: Possibly the dumbest song of all time, how can you not love it?
Grand Prize – It’s Not Over: The song that got me into the band that turned into Esterlyn.
Ivoryline – Instincts: The song that sums up everything that makes them so good at what they do, highly recommended for fans of Anberlin.
Ace Troubleshooter – Don’t Trust That Girl: The funniest song on the band led by current Relient K bassist John Warne.
Leeland – Chains Hit The Ground: The band that came out with such a stellar debut took a bit of a dip on their next two albums, but I feel like they made a great comeback with The Great Awakening.
Stellar Kart – Tree Climber: The most ridiculous half a minute in pop punk you might ever hear.
I Am Empire – Brain Damage: This list needed some serious rock n roll.
Anchor & Braille – Like Steps In A Dance: Anberlin’s Stephen Christian is looking to make a follow up to his side project Anchor & Braille’s debut album titled “Felt”.
Thank you for reading Christian Music Zine, home of the best new Christian music!
